Many people find that the nylon belt rubs against their neck and that isn’t very pleasant. The biggest complaint with most seat belt designs is the location of the shoulder belt relative to your neck. Some vehicles offer adjustable mounting designs while others have seat belts with built-in airbags, but all seat belt designs have made a tremendous impact on keeping drivers and passengers safe in the event of an accident. Seat belts have evolved a great deal over the past few decades. When buying wheel locks, always check with the manufacturer to see that they will fit on your Chevy Equinox. The idea behind these locking lug nuts is that a regular socket will not remove them and while they can be removed without the key, it is labor intensive, so thieves are likely to move onto the next vehicle. They also come with a round key which contains a negative of that inlaid pattern, allowing the key to slide over each of the wheel locks to grip and remove them. They work like tradition lug nuts, except rather than a normal six-sided nut, they are rounded with a unique inlaid pattern on the head. This lock set from Dorman is a great example of a simple wheel lock set. Every automaker offers wheel locks from the factory, but if your Chevy Equinox didn’t come with them or they were removed by a previous owner, adding a set is a great way to protect your wheels from thieves. The biggest downsides to aluminum wheels are that the wheels are easy to resell and that the metal is relatively valuable, making most modern wheels a popular target for thieves. These alloy wheels look nicer than steel wheels, and they are also less prone to corrosion and lighter, effectively improving the efficiency and performance of your vehicle. Pretty much every Chevy Equinox comes from the factory with aluminum wheels. You simply use the included fasteners in the pre-drilled holes to create a clean look that protects your paint from stones and other debris. That makes them ideal for anyone looking to replace the factory mud flaps due to damage or fading, but it also makes installation a breeze. Available for Equinox models from 2010 through 2020, they mount using the same holes as the flaps that are offered by Chevrolet. These flaps are molded plastic with a shape that flows with the natural lines of the body, offering a perfect fitment with a factory-installed look. In some cases, the flaps are offered from the factory, but they can get broken or damaged, making them less effective.įortunately, there are lots of aftermarket options for mud flaps, including the set shown here from A-Premium. All of that mess and damage can be prevented with a simple set of mud flaps, also called splash guards by some people. Mud and other road grime can be hard to remove from the paint while the graveling being picked up by the tires can do serious damage to the doors and rear quarter panels. If you have been driving your Chevy Equinox on muddy or gravel roads, you may have noticed that the tires are kicking up lots of debris onto the body.
